Pepsi Refresh Project grant , December 1, 2010, Application received being reviewed, Additional information

Our application for a Pepsi Refresh Project grant was submitted early this morning and received for review.

Our application:

GEO, Green Energy On-line

$50,000 to Help us jump start simple, affordable green solar, wind energy, jobs.

About GEO, Green Energy ON-line

Backgrounds in Math/Science & IT, research going back to 70′s. Projects this year include a electric motorcycle, wind generator for integration with passive solar projects. Two new passive solar projects. Window heat unit & crawl space unit. Co-op with 3 local co.

    1. Promote passive solar, wind energy in existing, new construction.
    2. Make green energy more affordable.
    3. Create jobs.
    4. Boost the local and national economy.
  • Project Vision.

The plan, already in place, is to promote simple, inexpensive passive solar solutions. A house built in 1910 is being adapted for wind energy & passive solar. The first wind generator installed with passive solar collectors will provide heat for the downstairs.Long terms plans are to fine tune the passive solar and to experiment with wind generators that produce electricity with lower wind speeds and solar heat assistance.
Ultimately the goal is to promote passive solar energy, the cheapest and most flexible of our abundant free energy. A byproduct of this effort will be putting people to work installing the solutions, which can be as simple as the window heat unit.
We are also working on the aesthetic aspect of passive and active solar. Too many of the existing products are an eyesore. We are brainstorming with another company to provide more aesthetically pleasing and more varied products which will allow more people to embrace this technology.

This old house goes green, 1910 house gets passive solar, wind energy heat

This old house goes green, 1910 house gets passive solar, wind energy heat The plan, already in place, is to promote simple, inexpensive passive solar applications for existing dwellings & new construction. A house built in 1910 is being adapted for wind energy & passive solar. The first wind generator is in operation and it will be used to augment the energy from the passive solar collectors and initially provide heat for the downstairs. This, of course will help heat the upstairs since warm air rises. The first phase of the passive solar is built and in operation. This window unit feeds warm air through a window without the need for a fan. Second phase, already in the late planning stages, will feed warm air from solar collectors into the ductwork in the basment. Heat generated by the wind generator will keep heat flowing at night. Here is the email response from the Pepsi Refresh Project:

“We’ve received your idea, “Help us jump start simple, affordable green solar, wind energy, jobs.” We are reviewing it now.

Mark your calendar. On the first day of next month, we’ll let you know if your idea is approved. After that you can begin promoting your idea for a chance at a grant worth $50,000.”

We would like to add the following information. Our projects are very much ready to proceed and if we get the grant we will immediately spend money on parts and labor. We have been in negotiations with two small local companies.

    • The first is a small local electrical company. The owner was impacted heavily by the economy and housing market. He has been upgrading his green energy and weatherization skills. He has already provided some volunteer labor for two of our projects.
    • The second small company owner has been involved with us in the area of aesthetics, making passive solar projects more pleasing to the eye and consequently boost demand and jobs.
